From parents room to own room | Del cuarto de los papás a cuarto propio

When you are ready for this transition be aware that this is a big step for them and that it is better to do it gradually.

1. Spend time in their room, playing, changing clothes, if possible do naps there as you want them to feel comfortable in that space
2. If they are already sleeping in a cot or their own bed in the parent’s room when passing them to their own room have one of the parents sleep on a mattress for a couple of nights
3. If they are sleeping in your bed you have 2 options: a. transition them to a cot or toddlers bed before and then pass them to their own room and sleep on a mattress in their room for a couple of nights or b. sleep with them on a mattress in their own room for some nights and then pass them to their cot or bed and you stay on the mattress for some nights
4. Do your usual bedtime routine in their own room

Cuando estén listos para esta transición, toma en cuenta que es un gran paso para ellos y que es mejor hacerlo gradualmente.

1. Pasen tiempo en la nueva habitación, jugando, cambiándoles la ropa, si es posible, que haga siestas allí, ya que deseamos que se sientan cómodos en ese espacio
2. Si ya están durmiendo en una cuna o en su propia cama en la habitación de los padres, al pasarlos a la nueva habitación que alguno de los padres duerma ahí en un colchón por un par de noches
3. Si están durmiendo en tu cama, tienes 2 opciones: a. hacer la transición a una cuna o cama antes y luego pasarlos a su propia habitación y que alguno de los padres duerman en un colchón en su habitación por un par de noches o b. dormir con ellos en un colchón en la nueva habitación por algunas noches y luego transferirlos a su cuna o cama y que alguno de los padres se quede en el colchón por algunas noches más
4. Realiza su rutina habitual a la hora de acostarse en su propia habitación
